Sally S. Sowden [Intelligencer Journal (Lancaster, PA)]

Sally S. Sowden, 83, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Mechanicsburg and Wyoming, PA passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012.

Born October 3, 1929 in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Estella (Eaton) Spiegel. She married Donald T. Sowden, April 22, 1950 at Wyoming United Methodist Church. She was a 1947 graduate of West Wyoming High School. She was a former employee of Sardoni Construction Services, Forty Fort, retired from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Camp Hill and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Donald T. Sowden, Elizabethtown; son, Roger C. and his wife Shirley G. (Harlan) Sowden, Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Eric P. Lindsay and his wife Alicia (Weaver), Harrisburg; Brian D. Lindsay, Tucson, AZ; Corrina L. Sowden, Arlington, VA; Jade K. Sowden, and Jesse Kavetski both of Wilkes-Barre; sister, Lois Case, Brea, CA; brother, Clinton D. "Pat" Spiegel, Wyoming, and daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Sowden, Mechanicsburg.

She was preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law, Gail Ann and Parker Lindsay; son, Bradley G. Sowden; sister, Edna Eddy; and brothers Robert, Norman and Billy Spiegel.

Service will be Friday, November 2, 2012, at 11:00 AM, preceded by visitation from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA. Interment will be at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
