McClatchy-Tribune Information Services

March 01--ERIE, Pa. -- Credit the Mad Ants' latest win to the fourth-quarter freshness of Trey McKinney-Jones and Jamaal Franklin.

McKinney Jones and Franklin combined for 25 fourth-quarter points as the Mad Ants erased a tie game and pulled away for a 112-102 win over the Erie BayHawks on Friday at the Erie Insurance Arena.

McKinney Jones, an Ants rookie, scored 13 of his 19 points in the final period and Franklin, a rookie on assignment from the Memphis Grizzlies, scored 12 of his 18 in the final period. Both had big-momentum dunks. McKinney-Jones finished with a double-double, pulling down 11 rebounds. Franklin led the Ants with six assists.

The win improved the Ants to 22-14 and kept them within a half game of the Canton Charge in the NBA Development League East Division. Fort Wayne plays Iowa (21-11) at 7:30 tonight at Memorial Coliseum.

Tony Mitchell also 19 points, Ron Howard 16, Matt Bouldin 15 and Will Frisby 14 in the win at Erie. Sadiel Rojas pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds.

Former Purdue University guard Lewis Jackson scored 14 points with 14 assists for Erie (11-25).
