Prudential funds honored by Lipper for performance

NewsRx

Four Prudential Investments mutual funds won awards based on five and 10-year risk-adjusted performance at Lipper's recent annual mutual fund awards ceremony in New York City. The awards honor mutual funds that have excelled in delivering consistent risk-adjusted performance relative to peers. Prudential Investments is the mutual fund family of Prudential Financial Inc. (NYSE: PRU) and offers funds across a range of asset classes and sectors, including equity, fixed income, real estate and specialty securities.

"Being a top Lipper performer brings welcome recognition to our investment managers and their strategies, and our commitment to providing shareholders with the very best vehicles for achieving their financial goals," said Stuart Parker, president of Prudential Investments.

Prudential Investments' Lipper Award winners for risk-adjusted investment performance through the period ending November 30, 2011, were as follows: Prudential Jennison Natural Resources Fund (Class Z, PNRZX), which won for 10-year performance out of 31 funds in the Global Natural Resources category. This is the fifth consecutive year that this fund has won a Lipper Award. It is managed by Jennison Associates, a leading active equity manager since 1969. Prudential Jennison 20/20 Focus Fund (Class Z, PTWZX), which won for 10-year performance out of 355 funds in the Large Cap Growth category. This fund is also managed by Jennison. Prudential Jennison Health Sciences Fund (Class Z, PHSZX), which won for 5- and 10-year performance out of 63 and 49 funds, respectively, in the Health/Biotechnology category. This fund is also managed by Jennison. Prudential Global Real Estate Fund Z (Class Z, PURZX), which won for 5-year performance out of 46 funds in the Global Real Estate Funds category. Prudential Real Estate Investors, the fund manager, has been managing real estate assets since 1970 and is one of the largest real estate managers investing in both public and private real estate.

Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU), a financial services leader with approximately $901 billion of assets under management as of December 31, 2011, has operations in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Prudential's diverse and talented employees are committed to helping individual and institutional customers grow and protect their wealth through a variety of products and services, including life insurance, annuities, retirement-related services, mutual funds and investment management. In the U.S., Prudential's iconic Rock symbol has stood for strength, stability, expertise and innovation for more than a century. For more information, please visit http://www.news.prudential.com/.

Class Z shares are available to individual investors through certain retirement, mutual fund wrap and asset allocation programs, and to institutions at an investment minimum of $10,000,000. Performance by share class may vary. Other share classes, which contain either a sales load or a contingent deferred sales charge, are also available. These expenses could lower total fund return. Please see the prospectus for additional information about fees, expenses and investor eligibility requirements.

The risks associated with these funds may include: investing in foreign securities, which are subject to currency fluctuation and political uncertainty; short sales, which involve costs and the risk of potentially unlimited losses; derivative securities, which may carry market, credit, and liquidity risks; investments in the natural resources, health sciences, and real estate sectors, thereby increasing vulnerability to any single economic, political, or regulatory development. Investing in real estate poses risks related to individual property, credit, and interest rate fluctuations. Some funds are non-diversified, so a loss resulting from a particular security or sector will have a greater impact on the Fund's return. These risks may result in greater share price volatility. There is no guarantee the Funds' objectives will be achieved. The risks associated with each fund are explained more fully in the respective fund's prospectus.

The Lipper Fund Awards are based on risk-adjusted returns for the three-, five-, and 10-year periods ending 11/30/2011. Prudential Global Real Estate Fund Class Z shares were ranked 7 out of 81 and 1 out of 46 Global Real Estate Funds for the three- and five-year periods, respectively. The Prudential Jennison 20/20 Focus Fund Z shares were ranked 166 out of 651, 166 out of 558, and 1 out of 355 Large Cap Growth Funds for the three-, five-, and 10-year periods, respectively. The Prudential Jennison Natural Resources Fund Class Z shares were ranked 5 out of 89, 3 out of 57, and 1 out of 31 Global Natural Resources Funds for the three-, five-, and 10-year periods, respectively, and the Prudential Jennison Health Sciences Fund Class Z shares were ranked 5 out of 66, 1 out of 63, and 1 out of 49 Health/Biotechnology Funds for the three-, five-, and 10-year periods, respectively.

In the Lipper Fund Awards, funds had to be registered for sale in the respective country as of the end of 2011 and had to have at least 36 months of performance history as of the end of the evaluation year. Rankings do not take sales charges into account. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Performance by share class may vary. Consider a fund's investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses carefully before investing. The prospectus, and, if available, a summary prospectus, contain this and other information about the fund. Contact your financial professional for a prospectus and, if available, a summary prospectus. Read it carefully before investing. Mutual funds are distributed by Prudential Investment Management Services LLC, (PIMS) member SIPC. Jennison Associates and Prudential Investment Management (PIM) are registered investment advisors. Prudential Real Estate Advisors, also known as PREI®, is a unit of PIM. All are Prudential Financial companies. Prudential Investments, Prudential, Jennison Associates, Jennison, the Prudential logo, and the Rock symbol are service marks of Prudential Financial, Inc., and its related entities, registered in many jurisdictions worldwide.
