Patient Fusion Rolls Out Health Spending Tracking Tool [Manufacturing Close – Up]

Patient Fusion, a personal health platform, launched a free tool to help patients track their health spending online.

In a release, the Company noted that consumers who book appointments online at PatientFusion.com receive access to their online personal health record and can now track their health spending across all of their medical visits. The beta launch is available to patients covered by insurance payers including United and Anthem Blue Cross.

"Until now, patients have been disenfranchised in the health system, but we're in a unique position to give consumers the information they need," said Ryan Howard, CEO of Practice Fusion. "We've given patients transparency into the quality of doctor they see, and now we're offering that same visibility into their health spending. As a company, we believe patients must be empowered to make informed decisions about their own health."

Ohr Pharmaceutical Inc., a pharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel therapeutics for unmet medical needs, announced the appointment of June Almenoff to its Board of Directors.

Almenoff is President and Chief Medical Officer of Furiex Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical development and collaboration company; she serves as the company's Principal Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Furiex, Almenoff had over 12 years of pharmaceutical industry experience at GlaxoSmithKline. During her tenure at GSK, she was a Vice President in the Clinical Safety organization at GSK, where she chaired a Pharma-FDA working group, and she also worked in the area of scientific licensing. Prior to joining GSK, Almenoff was on the faculty of Duke University Medical Center, where she is currently a Consulting Professor of Medicine.
