Paralyzed Veterans of America Receives Historic Donation

Targeted News Service

WASHINGTON, Dec. 27 -- Paralyzed Veterans of America issued the following news release:

Paralyzed Veterans of America (http://www.pva.org/) (Paralyzed Veterans) announced today that it has received its largest donation in the organization's 67-year history--an estate gift from the late Jeffrey M. Carlton. As a tribute to Mr. Carlton's entrepreneurial talents, Paralyzed Veterans of America will use the funds to support new programs and services.

Paralyzed Veterans has already received distributions and/or commitments totaling over $3 million. The Trust will eventually evolve into the Jeffrey Carlton Charitable Foundation, which will provide ongoing support of the organization. It is estimated that by the end of the next decade Paralyzed Veterans may receive $50 million from the Jeffrey Carlton Trust/Foundation.

"This enormous financial gift will help us to continue our mission of ensuring that veterans of every generation get the healthcare and benefits they've earned through service, and are able to live full and productive lives," said Bill Lawson, (http://www.pva.org/site/c.ajIRK9NJLcJ2E/b.6305431/k.A4AB/PVA_Leaders.htm)national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America. "We are deeply grateful for this tremendous donation."

Jeff Carlton founded Press Forge in 1978 and served as the company's Chairman and CEO until his passing in 2012. Press Forge is located in Paramount, California and is one of the largest U.S. suppliers of conversion forging services to commercial and military, aerospace, nuclear, oil and gas exploration and industrial markets.

David Fanning, Senior Development Officer with Paralyzed Veterans said, "Jeff was a loyal donor and friend since 1993. He attended our Board of Directors reception in Long Beach, was a member of our Patriot Society (which recognizes major donors) and also a member of our Legacy Circle (which honors those who have included us in their estate planning)."

Paralyzed Veterans of America is a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946 that has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of its members (http://www.pva.org/site/c.ajIRK9NJLcJ2E/b.6305539/k.59D9/Membership_Information.htm)--veterans of the armed forces who have experience spinal cord injury (http://www.pva.org/site/c.ajIRK9NJLcJ2E/b.6344373/k.4182/Spinal_Cord_Injury_Information.htm) or dysfunction.
