Oceanus Insurance Company Chooses Delphi Technology’s OASIS Professional Liability Suite for Policy and Underwriting Administration

Delphi Technology, Inc., the leading provider of technology solutions for Professional Liability insurers, announced that Oceanus Insurance Company, a risk retention group specializing in medical professional liability insurance, has chosen Delphi's OASIS Professional Liability Suite for policy and underwriting administration. The OASIS solution will enable Oceanus to automate its current and highly manual processes for improved efficiencies to support the company's aggressive growth strategy. Implementation of the OASIS solution is currently underway and on track for production use in late spring (see also Delphi Technology, Inc.).

Primarily still using highly manual processes for policy and underwriting administration, Oceanus was experiencing operational constraints which could potentially limit the company's growth potential. With the automation and process efficiencies offered with Delphi's web-based OASIS solution, Oceanus will now be able to take advantage of improved and streamlined processes to support growth and quality services, but without incurring additional expense and staff.

The flexibility offered with the "configurable" capabilities of the Delphi OASIS solution, coupled with the system's web-delivery will enable quick implementation and a solution designed specifically for Oceanus's unique product and processing needs.

Commenting on the Delphi decision, Robin Trenchard said, "We currently write business in 16 states. While our goal is to grow our business, we will not compromise when it comes to providing the outstanding client services that have earned us a 96% retention rate."

Robin continued, "Since professional liability coverage is not 'one size fits all' it was important to ensure that the solution we selected enabled us to have an agile operation able to respond to each and every client's unique coverage needs. This requirement was key as we searched the market and evaluated available solutions. Delphi's OASIS was selected in large part due to its combination of unmatched configurability and its breadth and depth of functionality. Plus, Delphi's extensive experience in medical professional liability insurance gave us the confidence that they understood our business and subsequently our technology and processing needs."

Delphi Technology's Director of Sales, Phil Abrams, added, "We thank Oceanus for selecting our OASIS solution and for their confidence in our staff's experience and knowledge of medical professional liability insurance. We look forward to our system playing a key role in enabling Oceanus to meets it business objectives. The Delphi team is already working closely with the Oceanus staff to ensure a successful implementation. Our goal is to enable Oceanus to derive maximum value from their new OASIS system through automation, improved operational efficiencies, and the flexibility to address new and changing business needs as they grow their market share and expand their client base." About Oceanus Insurance At the turn of this century, physicians encountered escalating premiums and a shortage of available medical malpractice insurance carriers. In response to these unfavorable conditions, a group of like-minded physicians and surgeons came together to defy a historically unstable insurance market and create Oceanus Insurance. Today, Oceanus continues to grow in membership while maintaining stability for physicians looking to free themselves from unpredictable market influences.

Domiciled in South Carolina, Oceanus is a non-assessable Risk Retention Group (RRG) that is wholly owned by its policy holders. Oceanus provides medical professional liability insurance to physicians and surgeons through independent insurance agents.
