OPEX Includes Kofax VRS Software in New DS2200 Scanner
Integration Improves Efficiency and Reduces Operating Costs for Users
“We’re quite excited to be offering Kofax VRS on our new DS2200 scanner,” said
“We’re pleased OPEX has once again opted to embed VRS software in this exciting new offering, just as they did about a year ago for the AS7200,” said
Kofax VRS is Kofax’s patented image enhancement and perfection software. VRS reduces the time involved in manual document preparation and enhances the quality of scanned images, dramatically improving both manual scanning productivity and the efficiency of document capture processes. High quality images are critical as they can significantly impact the success of downstream data extraction and retrieval needs.
The DS2200 is a high volume production scanner that combines scanning excellence and unique features at an exceptional value. Equipped with a state-of-the-art document feeder, the DS2200 offers OPEX’s unique drop feed and packet feed technologies, along with an auto feed capability in a single platform, thereby providing users maximum flexibility to handle virtually any document scanning task, while practically eliminating costly prep and rescans.
In so-called “messy” document environments, the DS2200 allows for the efficient processing of non-standard items, including receipts, business cards, damaged documents and odd sizes, intermixed with the uniform documents typically associated with traditional high speed scanners without costly “doc prep.” This results in significantly less document handling and preparation time and insures that the user’s overall hourly production rates and operating costs are the best in the industry. The DS2200 also features a fast quad-core PC controller, software based envelope detection, and OPEX’s unique CertainScan™
When CertainScan software is equipped with Kofax VRS, a variety of additional optimizations can be performed in line, including content based rotation, auto-crop, auto-orientation, color suppression, color and background smoothing and disregarding selective content. This all adds up to unmatched image quality, recognition and cleanup at full speed, full color, and full 300 dpi resolution.
