About the Author
grew up in a small town in Louisiana where he learned many things from his teachers and coaches who taught him the importance of discipline. By learning discipline from his father and football coach, Herbert J. Hernandez, and his basketball coach, Gene Ponthieux, he was able to continuously improve both his athletic skills and his leadership abilities. He became the first student athlete in his high school’s history to make All State in both football and basketball. He was later selected to his high school Hall of Fame.

In his career Hernandez has been the director of telecommunications for the State of Louisiana, vice president of a data networking company, senior manager of an international telecommunications company, and the management information systems director of a school board. In each of the last three positions he has used the planning process, MissionWon that he developed while working on his master’s degree in engineering management at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana.
