National Business Group on Health Elects Janice Uhlig, General Motors Human Resource Executive, to Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 -- The National Business Group on Health issued the following news release:

The National Business Group on Health, a non-profit association of more than 375 large U.S. employers, today announced that Janice Uhlig, executive director of global compensation and benefits at General Motors Company, has been elected to its elite board of directors.

"We are extremely pleased to have someone with Janice's expertise join our board and support our employer members in their continuing efforts to address today's complex health care benefit issues," said Helen Darling, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health. "Janice is a leader in every sense of the word and her deep experience both as a human resource and finance executive will be a tremendous asset to our board and members."

Uhlig has served as executive director of global compensation and benefits at GM since January 2009. In her position, she has overall responsibility for executive compensation and benefits, global pay plans and benefits, International Assignment Service and HR policy. In 2010, Uhlig was named secretary of the Executive Compensation Committee of the General Motors Company Board of Directors. Before joining the human resources team at GM in 2007, she held various finance executive positions at GM.

Uhlig earned her honours bachelor's degree in business and economics from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and her master's degree in business administration from York University in Toronto, Ontario.
