Midland National’s Annuity Rates and Commissions Are Increasing

WEST DES MOINES, IA, June 24 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Midland National announces an increase to short-term rates. Five-year rates are the highest they've been this year -- now crediting a 5.25% interest rate effective June 23, 2008. That's not all -- Midland National is increasing commission on its MNL Guarantee Plus® to 3%.

Created to offer agents competitive compensation packages and innovative product line-ups, the Annuity Division's expertise supports consumers and agents efforts toward building peace of mind during retirement. Midland National also offers a generous marketing reimbursement program with the ability to earn additional compensation as production increases.

FOR AGENT USE ONLY. NOT TO BE USED FOR CONSUMER SOLICITATION PURPOSES. The MNL Guarantee Plus® is issued by Midland National Life Insurance Company, West Des Moines, IA on form AC/AS086A or appropriate state variation. The commission bonus will apply to new business MNL Guarantee Plus applications received at the Annuity Division on or after 6-23-08 for agents at the DA1000 level. Midland National reserves the right to modify or discontinue this program at any time and all rules/decisions will be subject to the final interpretation of Midland National -- no exceptions will be made. Commission bonus applies to personal production only, production cannot be accumulated between agents and the agent must be active with Midland National in order to receive bonus. Commissions may vary by issue age, contract level and issue state. Bonuses will be paid through normal channels and agents are responsible for the bonus through the issuance of IRS Form 1099. Bonus does, in no way, alter or amend the Agent Contract or contract level in any way. All rules regarding commission chargebacks will apply and Midland National reserves the right to accept or decline business at any time.
