Michigan Dems: MDP Memo: Terri Lynn Land’s Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

LANSING, Mich., Nov. 27 -- The Michigan Democratic Party issued the following news release:

Over the past week, problems have continued to pile up for Ms. Land. From her Tea Party pandering flip-flop on repealing health care reform, to doubling down on government shutdown and claiming reopening the government was a mistake, to dodging questions about backing Mitch McConnell in Washington - suddenly it's very clear why Ms. Land hasn't held a single public campaign event or media availability.

It's been more than 6 months since Land entered the race, but she's refused to take positions she can't fundraise off of, answer serious questions from the media, or meet with Michiganders who aren't donating to her campaign.

With headlines like these, it's no wonder that no top-tier Michigan Republicans have endorsed Land's campaign for Senate.

Land Holding Off On Public Campaign Events. "Republican U.S. Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land is nearing her six-month anniversary in the race, but has yet to host her own public campaign event or general media scrum." [MIRS, 11/22/13] (subscription required)

Peters Backed by Cops; Land Keeps Low Profile "[T]he Land camp was trying to beat back claims that her campaign has made a minimal impact since she declared her candidacy in early June, even as the potential GOP rivals of the former Michigan secretary of state all declined to run.
