Medical Mutual of Ohio Offers Curves Fitness Discounts

CLEVELAND, Feb. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The holidays are long gone, but the work to shed those extra holiday pounds continues. To make the task easier, Medical Mutual of Ohio is teaming up with Curves, the global leader in women's fitness, to offer Medical Mutual customers a discount on the fitness club's fees.

"Curves is a unique fitness center in that it gives women a place to come together to not only work out, but support each other in their quest to become healthier," said Paula Sauer, Medical Mutual's Sr. vice president of Pharmacy and Care Management. "This is an ideal partnership because we believe in providing our members with all the tools they need to follow a healthy lifestyle," she said.

Medical Mutual's female members can now join Curves at a discounted enrollment fee of $49. Curves provide women with a complete cardio and strength training workout in just 30 minutes. With a system that can burn up to 500 calories and work every major muscle group, participants can get an efficient and effective workout with every visit. To date, more than four million women have chosen Curves to meet their health goals.

"We know that one of the obstacles to fitness is affordability," said Mark English, Curves Vice President of Wellness. "But we also know that for every dollar spent on wellness, you can save five dollars or more on illness costs. It just makes sense to partner with companies like Medical Mutual of Ohio to make getting fit and healthy more accessible to more people."

Founded in 1934, Medical Mutual of Ohio is the oldest and largest health insurance company based in Ohio. For more than 75 years the company has served its customers through high-quality, affordable group and personal health insurance plans, and third-party administrative services to self-insured group customers. For more information, visit the company's award-winning Web site at www.MedMutual.com.
