Matrix Absence Management Taps Paul Dube as VP of Business Strategy [Health & Beauty Close – Up]

Matrix Absence Management, Inc., (Matrix), an integrator of insurance and absence management services, has named Paul Dube Vice President, Product Strategy and Development, a newly-created role reporting to Matrix President Kenneth Cope.

In his new position, Matrix said that Dube will be responsible for creating and advancing its growth and absence management service offerings, as well as new product development, research, strategy, data analytics and sales support.

In a release, Matrix said that it is a leader in delivering services to help employers proactively manage employee absence and related programs. Matrix seamlessly integrates workers' compensation, short and long term disability, return-to-work services, and personal/family and medical leave (FMLA) programs. Matrix is also the administrator and claims platform for Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company's integrated disability clients.

Dube brings more than 20 years of directly related industry experience. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Lead Business Consultant for Aetna Life Insurance Company. In this executive-level role he was responsible for designing cross- functional, holistic business development solutions and led initiatives to achieve the company's strategic business objectives. While with Aetna he also served as the head of claims risk management with responsibility for development of Aetna's disability claim practices nationally.

Prior to his tenure at Aetna, Matrix said that Dube held a variety of leadership roles at Hartford Life Insurance Company and Unum Life Insurance Company, driving business strategy, claim practices, metric development, and operational excellence.
