Long Term Care Group, Inc. Acquires Nation’s CareLink

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN - December 16 - Long Term Care Group, Inc., the country's largest long term care insurance administrator, announced it has closed on a transaction to acquire Nation's CareLink, a national provider of underwriting and claims assessments and care management services. "This is an important step in our strategy to extend LTCG's reach in the health care market," according to Bruce Baude, LTCG's Chief Executive Officer.
The acquisition of Nation's CareLink is a natural fit for LTCG. Both companies are considered leaders in their respective markets in the tightly knit long term care insurance space. The two firms have several common clients, offer complimentary services, and have major operations in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.
"Bringing our two companies together will strengthen both," states Peter Levine, President of Nation's CareLink. "The current management and staff will remain in place and dedicated to the customers and to the quality service and products that have been the hallmark of the company's success. This merger is all about our customers; there will be no change to service or staffing and we expect a seamless transition," Levine adds.
LTCG is the only company offering a complete array of outsourced services to LTC insurers -- including application processing, underwriting decisions, policy administration, claims processing and care management. Peter Goldstein, the President of LTCG said "Wrapping Nation's CareLink's capabilities into our service offerings increase our value proposition to our current and prospective clients. We now offer a true end to end solution for insurers looking to outsource as well as focused assessment and care management expertise on a stand alone basis. There is no single company in the market that offers our breadth of services or expertise in long term care insurance."
With over 1,000,000 policies under management, this acquisition adds to LTCG's 30 insurance company clients and increases the number of employees to over 1000. LTCG offers a complete portfolio of long term care insurance services, including product development, compliance, actuarial, marketing, underwriting, claims, care management, and full policy administration for both the group and individual markets. Nation's CareLink is the industry leader in underwriting assessments, claims assessments and care management services. On an annual basis, Nation's CareLink works with more than a quarter million insurance applicants and claimants on behalf of 30 leading insurance carriers. Previous to this acquisition, Nation's CareLink was a portfolio company of Shared Ventures, Inc. a Minnesota based Corporation.
