BLOOMINGTON -- Dan Williamson has joined the staff of Bill Resch Insurance Inc. as an agent. He has been in the insurance business in Bloomington for more than 10 years, with a strong focus on customer service.

Established in 1970, Bill Resch Insurance provides insurance and financial solutions to more than 1,000 individuals and businesses in the area and is an independent insurance agency.

Sign up now for mall financial show

BLOOMINGTON -- Deadline to rent booth space at the College Mall's Financial Show is Thursday.

Hosted by College Mall, the Financial Show will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and will provide an opportunity for local bankers, financial planners/advisers, lenders, insurance agents and many more to showcase their expertise and provide educational assistance to individuals in planning their finances.

The event will spotlight a variety of products and services, including how to apply for a home or auto loan, how to budget to best suit your lifestyle and earnings, how to find the best insurance plans, and how to properly save for the future.

For more information about the show or to rent booth space for the event, contact Catherine Fisher at 812-339-9370 or at [email protected].

Ellettsville preschool registration open

ELLETTSVILLE -- Registration is still open for the Ellettsville Christian Church day care/preschool, which will open Aug. 13. Day care hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A school-ready curriculum and Christian education will be offered to one class of 12 children ages 3 to 5. Additional classes for younger children may be offered the following year.

The church facility includes a library, story room, craft room, sensory room, a full-size gym and outdoor playground. The school is in the process of becoming a State of Indiana registered ministry and it's hoped that childcare vouchers will be accepted in the fall and a food program will be in place that would provide children with healthy, free breakfast, lunch and snacks.

The rate for participation in the full-day program is $120 a week. There are also part-time spots available. To register, call 812-876-6500.

Young professionals to receive awards

BLOOMINGTON -- The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce has announced the 10 young professionals who will receive a 10 Under 40 Award at this year's award celebration, slated for July 26 at the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center.

The 10 Under 40 Awards is co-hosted by the chamber and its Helping Young People Excel (hYPe) program to recognize individuals between the ages of 21 and 40 years old who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their community and/or in their workplace.

This year's 10 Under 40 honorees are: Heather Allen, Bloomington Hospital Foundation; McKenzie May, ISU May Agency; Jason Banach, Indiana University Real Estate; Annie Cornett, People and Animals Learning Service (PALS); Amanda Shettlesworth, Bloomington Meadows Hospital; Logan Good, Western & Southern Financial Group; Erika Rudd, Monroe County YMCA; Jaimie Schwartzman, BuffaLouie's; Adam Schaeuble, Next Generation Personal Training & Fitness; and Jessica Reed, Bloomington Playwrights Project.

The chamber launched hYPE in 2011 to facilitate professional and personal development while encouraging networking for young professionals who live, learn, work or play in Bloomington. The chamber then created the 10 Under 40 Awards to honor young professionals who show leadership in their professional, personal and civic endeavors.

For more information about hYPe or the 10 Under 40 Awards, contact the Chamber at 812-336-3681 or go to the chamber's website at www.ChamberBloomington.org.
