Liberty Mutual Insurance Group Announces Expansion in Ireland with the Creation of 150 New Technology Jobs

DUBLIN, Dec. 19 -- The Ireland Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation issued the following news release:

Boston-based Liberty Mutual Insurance Group is pleased to announce the creation of 150 new jobs in the company's Blanchardstown, Dublin office. The new jobs represent an expansion of the company's IT operations, which currently employ over 350 people in Belfast.

The 150 new jobs will be phased in over the next two years and will bring the total Liberty Mutual Insurance Group workforce in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to more than 1,500 employees.

The company's IT operations in Belfast specialise in enterprise level software engineering support for Liberty Mutual Insurance Group worldwide. The expanded IT operations in Dublin will support the establishment of an IT Help Desk, a Security Operations Centre and a Software Engineering Unit.

Liberty Mutual Insurance Group today also announced that it has acquired the remaining 49 percent of Liberty Mutual Ireland Investment Holdings Limited, the parent company of Ireland-based Liberty Insurance Limited, from Tutelana Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (in Special Liquidation). As a result, Liberty Mutual Insurance Group is now the 100 percent owner of Liberty Insurance, which provides car, home and commercial insurance in Ireland.
