JMB Insurance announces executive appointments
Sep 20, 2010 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- JMB Insurance has appointed Matthew Horwitch as a member of its executive committee and co-CEO, side-by-side with Kenneth Sacks.
As co-CEOs, Mr Sacks and Mr Horwitch will spearhead initiatives throughout JMB's full range of insurance brokerage and consulting products and services.
Mr Horwitch's experience in the insurance industry includes more than 25 years in key leadership positions handling strategic risk management and program development for middle market, national and global insurance accounts.
He founded his own agency in 1988, which was acquired by Aon in 1999. Following the acquisition, he served as Aon's managing director for the upper Midwest region. He moved to Lockton Companies in 2002, as executive vice president, developing their Chicago national and middle market business. In 2006, he returned to Aon as president of its global account segment.
Mr Sacks joined JMBI in 1992, advancing from associate to vice president and becoming a senior vice president in 2000. He was named a member of the executive committee in 2003 and managing principal in 2009. In addition to sales responsibilities, he has handled operations for the firm.
Executive vice presidents David Macknin and Bruce Schlesinger, along with COO Barry Gersowsky, will partner with Mr Sacks and Mr Horwitch as members of the JMBI executive committee.
Mr Sacks said: "At JMB, we have the scope, size and financial strength to meet the insurance needs of businesses ranging from large clients to the newest startup. Our specialized account teams bring a depth and richness of technical skill combined with market knowledge and experience that is unmatched in our profession."
