Irvine Insurance Broker SullivanCurtisMonroe Sees 15% Growth in New Business

Business Wire, Inc.

Adds 35 New Employees

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SullivanCurtisMonroe Insurance Services, LLC, is ending 2011 with an increase in new business of 15 percent of gross revenues and 35 new employees.

“We are looking for continued growth in 2012,” said David Kummer, president.

Kummer attributes the growth to the agency’s nearly decade-long investment in expanding its capabilities, particularly in the health care, real estate, risk control and consulting practices in property and casualty insurance and the benefits administration, compliance and communications practices within the employee benefits division.

“In addition to adding employees with specific expertise in these areas, we have made investments in our software and processes,” he said. “We had some growth in 2010 but this is the year that we really saw a major payoff,” he added.

SullivanCurtisMonroe also has expanded its communications and marketing department and added email newsletters focusing on its specialties.

Key staff members who joined SullivanCurtisMonroe in 2011 include Derek Moore, Kyle Shallahamer and Drew Lambert, employee benefits consultants; Hunt Turner, vice president in the Pasadena office; Blake Pierson, vice president in the Corona office; and sales executives Mark Dobbs and Jay Sullinger and account executive Rikki MacBarron, working in the real estate, health care and overall commercial lines areas.

Of the 35 employees who joined the firm this year, about 20 are in new positions, said Kummer, whose own background spans almost 25 years as a broker, underwriter, claims adjuster and manager. SullivanCurtisMonroe now has a total of 180 employees.

“In an economy in which many companies are reducing staff or simply not replacing employees who leave, we are especially proud of our growth,” Kummer said.

For nearly 80 years, privately held SullivanCurtisMonroe Insurance Services, LLC has been protecting its clients by providing risk management services.A full-service insurance agency focused on middle market companies, SCM offers commercial property and casualty, employee benefits and personal lines coverage.By focusing on preventative measures, SCM helps its clients reduce claims, thereby keeping costs down.SCM serves a wide range of clients from its offices in Irvine, Pasadena and Corona.
