“We are looking for continued growth in 2012,” said
Kummer attributes the growth to the agency’s nearly decade-long investment in expanding its capabilities, particularly in the health care, real estate, risk control and consulting practices in property and casualty insurance and the benefits administration, compliance and communications practices within the employee benefits division.
“In addition to adding employees with specific expertise in these areas, we have made investments in our software and processes,” he said. “We had some growth in 2010 but this is the year that we really saw a major payoff,” he added.
SullivanCurtisMonroe also has expanded its communications and marketing department and added email newsletters focusing on its specialties.

Of the 35 employees who joined the firm this year, about 20 are in new positions, said Kummer, whose own background spans almost 25 years as a broker, underwriter,claims adjuster and manager. SullivanCurtisMonroe now has a total of 180 employees.
“In an economy in which many companies are reducing staff or simply not replacing employees who leave, we are especially proud of our growth,” Kummer said.
