Heffernan Foundation Benefit ‘Journey to the 80s’ Raises Over $850,000

SAN FRANCISCO, May 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Heffernan Foundation, the charitable giving program for Heffernan Insurance Brokers, held a benefit event on May 18, 2013 at the Regency Center in San Francisco, which raised over $850,000.  Celebrating the 25^th anniversary of the founding of Heffernan Insurance Brokers in 1988, the event theme was 'Journey to the 80s,' and was a dance party featuring the popular 80s cover band, Tainted Love.  The evening included a live auction and raffle.  All proceeds benefit the Foundation.

Over $375,000 in sponsorship funds were raised in advance of the event from over seventy individuals, businesses and vendors, including several international and national brokers and insurance carriers, including $25K sponsors The Hanover Insurance Group, The Hartford, and Patriot National Insurance Group of Woodland Hills and Sacramento, CA.  Michelle Lonaker, Heffernan's Philanthropy & Foundation Director, said, "In addition to being a great party, the event helped the Heffernan Foundation carry out its mission, which is to support nonprofits that provide direct support and services to local communities in the areas of shelter, food, education and the preservation of the environment."
