PR Web

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2014

In a clear sign of campaign momentum, Los Angeles Head Deputy District Attorney John Morris's campaign for Los Angeles County Assessor has been endorsed by regional leaders from Los Angeles County's High Desert including County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, California Board of Equalization member George Runner, State Senator Steve Knight, elected City Council officials from Lancaster and Palmdale including retired Lancaster Mayor Bishop Henry Hearns. These officials joined the Antelope Valley Press newspaper which backed Morris earlier this year.

"It's been an honor to help keep Antelope Valley neighborhoods and schools safe from criminal thugs as a Deputy District Attorney," said John Morris. "I look forward to helping protect Antelope Valley taxpayers by fully implementing Prop 13 and making the property assessment process easier to understand. I am very grateful for all the support I have received from the Antelope Valley in my campaign for Assessor."

During his 24 year career as a prosecutor in Los Angeles County, Head Deputy District Attorney John Morris served as the Supervisor of the Antelope Valley division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The Antelope Valley courthouse is one of the busiest in the state.

"Antelope Valley is an incredibly dynamic part of Los Angeles County and many of those challenges play out in a very busy courthouse," explained John Morris. "My career has taken me across Los Angeles County, eliminating fraud and crime from the street to white collar criminals defrauding government and insurance companies. As Assessor, I will work to protect every Los Angeles taxpayer everyday."

The endorsement by the Antelope Valley Press for John Morris for Assessor is the ninth by a newspaper in Los Angeles County. To date, he is the only candidate for Assessor to earn a major media endorsement. For more information on the endorsement by the Antelope Valley Daily Press go to http://avpress.com.

"The Antelope Valley Press along with many other major media outlets have followed this race closely since it began over a year ago," explained John Morris. "In this race newspaper after newspaper have decided I offered the best vision for protecting taxpayers and updating our ability to manage a now $1.1 trillion property tax roll."
