In a release, the Company said that by providing its full suite of benefits through Bright Choices, it is expanding access to these important benefit options for employers and employees through an increasingly popular distribution channel.
Guardian said that the Bright Choices Exchange is a private benefits exchange, similar to an online store, where employees can use money their employers allocate to them to purchase the benefits portfolio that best suits their needs. Employers choose how much to spend each year on benefits and then each employee determines how to spend their share of the money. In addition to medical options, participants will get to select a wide range of additional products - including those from Guardian's leading dental, vision, life, disability and accident products - to create a benefits plan unique to them.
"In the face of health care reform and the advent of exchanges, it is more important than ever for employers to provide supplemental benefits beyond medical coverage as part of an overall employee benefits program," said
"We are pleased to welcome Guardian to the Bright Choices Exchange," said
