GroundWork Open Source Announces New CentOS Linux Appliance for GroundWork Monitor Enterprise 6.1

OpenLogic to Provide CentOS Support for GroundWork Customers

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) -- GroundWork Open Source, Inc. (GWOS http://www.gwos.com), the leader in commercial open source systems and network management software, today announced GroundWork Monitor Enterprise Quickstart Virtual Appliance based on CentOS. Developed for smaller environments, with a price of $59 per year, the new virtual appliance combines GroundWork Monitor 6.1 with CentOS 5. This solution is jointly supported by GWOS and OpenLogic, a provider of enterprise open source software support and governance solutions for CentOS and hundreds of other open source packages.

The new CentOS-powered virtual appliance offers:

   • A full-featured copy of GroundWork Monitor Enterprise 6.1
   • The benefits and assurances of enterprise class Linux in a convenient virtual appliance
   • CentOS 5 Linux, supported by OpenLogic, provides the assurance required for production use
   • License to use the software for one year to monitor up to 100 devices
   • Unlimited email support within the first 60 days (requires completion of training class)
   • One seat in “Getting Started with GroundWork Monitor” online, on-demand training

“The CentOS Linux platform is extremely popular with small and medium-sized GWOS users, accounting for 46 percent of our installations,” says Simon Bennett, senior director of product management at GWOS. “This solution enables pragmatic CentOS users to expand their monitoring capabilities with the knowledge that the combined GWOS and OpenLogic support teams are available to cover the complete software stack.”

“For CDF Corporation, Enterprise Quickstart with CentOS provides us with an enterprise-class product that can fine-tune thresholds and monitoring techniques -- giving us optimal monitoring capabilities for our unique manufacturing environment,” said Alex Ivkovic, IT Manager for CDF Corporation (www.cdf1.com).

“OpenLogic provides partners such as GWOS enterprise-grade support on CentOS and more than 500 other open source projects. In this case, OpenLogic’s SLA CentOS support helps GWOS provide its customers an enterprise-ready monitoring virtual appliance based on CentOS,” said Kim Weins, senior vice president of marketing at OpenLogic. "Our unique cost-effective support model enables companies to get commercial support for open source software while still maintaining the significant cost advantages."

The Enterprise Quickstart CentOS powered virtual appliance is now available to purchase for $59 USD/ year and download through http://www.groundworkopensource.com/newExchange/flex-quickstart-centos-vm.
