Great American Insurance Group Selects Duck Creek Technologies

Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Platform solution to provide insurer enterprise-wide, configurable rating

Bolivar, MO, June 20, 2006 - Duck Creek Technologies, Inc., a provider of rating and policy administration software for the insurance industry, today announced that Great American Insurance Group has selected Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Platform®. The EXAMPLE Platform rating component is an integral element of Great American’s plan to replace its entire legacy infrastructure with a variety of component solutions.

With a need to develop and deploy products quickly while also effectively scaling the business, Great American Insurance Group looked to Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Author®, EXAMPLE Server®, and EXAMPLE Templates™ for Commercial Lines to deliver the policy application and quote process.  The initial EXAMPLE Platform implementation will focus on rating for the Great American insurance subsidiaries operating from the Group’s home office in Cincinnati, OH.  Ultimately, the system is expected to support the rating needs of all of Great American’s insurance subsidiaries located in California, Oklahoma and elsewhere.

One of the key factors in Great American’s selection of Duck Creek was the insurer’s decision to use its valued in-house IT and business analysis resources to manage the migration to component systems while maintaining business continuity with the existing mainframe rating system.  With the built-in configurability and rules approach of EXAMPLE Platform, Great American is looking forward to being self-sufficient on the new system and implementing the Duck Creek product throughout the entire Great American Insurance Group.
