Good Technology Brings Secure BYOD to Latin America RSA Insurance Group Employees

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --  Good Technology™, the leader in secure mobility, today announced that RSA Insurance Group, one of the world's leading insurers, has embraced a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) strategy in its Latin America division thanks to the Good Enterprise Suite. RSA employees can now securely input, access and share sensitive customer information on iOS or Android devices of their choice, whether personally owned or provided by the company, allowing them to be more responsive to customers. Furthermore, Good's solution makes security a priority without complicating the user experience, enabling RSA to mobilize its workforce while reinforcing two of its top corporate values: customer obsession and being a great place to work.

The insurance industry can be challenging to mobilize because of the highly-sensitive customer information it frequently utilizes, requiring strict security and privacy controls. Many alternative solutions have difficulty balancing the intersection of privacy and security, and often have to compromise on one to satisfy the other. RSA previously tried a secure smartphone solution that proved to be unpopular with employees due to reliability problems and a complicated user experience. However, Good's market-leading secure container solution proved valuable for RSA in that it met security and privacy concerns while actually improving productivity by letting employees use the devices of their choice.

"Good's solution was key to introducing BYOD since we found it to be the easiest to deploy and use, which made both our employees and our technical team very happy," said Jorge Martillo, regional infrastructure manager for Latin America RSA Insurance Group. "We were able to deploy the Good Enterprise Suite in just two weeks and it has become a mission-critical application that saves time and allows us to respond to customers faster - a valued component of our company's customer obsession."

The Good Enterprise Suite is a comprehensive EMM and BYOD solution offering complete mobile device management. The suite includes advanced mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM) and Good for Enterprise®, a fast business-first productivity app that provides a user interface with business optimized features including calendar reply and forwarding, availability information, one-tap conference dialing and secure browser integration. Good for Enterprise is the only cross-platform mobile collaboration solution for iOS and Android to achieve Common Criteria EAL4+ certification.

About 600 of RSA's employees in Latin America use the Good Enterprise Suite to securely read and reply to email from anywhere while on the go. They can easily open email attachments and edit presentations and strategy documents on tablets or smartphones using Good-secured apps from independent software vendors (ISVs), such as iAnnotate for Good and ShareFile QuickEdit for Good. According to Martillo, two favorite features for employees are automatic calendar synchronization between the mobile device and desktop, and the ability to securely access sensitive documents on file servers using Good Share™.

As a result of deploying the Good Enterprise Suite, RSA is seeing increased productivity, improved customer and employee experiences, and business continuity.

"We have found that an RSA employee who accesses email and other corporate resources on a mobile device using Good's solution just three times a day saves more than one hour each week by not having to wait for a VPN solution on a laptop. With 600 users, that's 600 hours weekly, the equivalent of 15 full-time employees," Martillo continued.

RSA also worked with Good to implement a disaster recovery solution, splitting its user base between data centers in Miami and Brazil. To date, uptime has been 100 percent and support requirements remain low, according to RSA.

"BYOD has fueled the rapid proliferation of mobile devices and applications in the enterprise. Securing apps and data is paramount to ensuring sensitive corporate and customer information is safe," said Andy Jacques, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Good Technology. "RSA selected Good Enterprise Mobility Suite to balance 'always-connected' productivity for its Latin American workforce while ensuring IT maintains secure control of mobile apps and the data being accessed."
