Evening of Excellence/Bids for Kids benefits Education Foundation of Martin County

Feb. 28--The Education Foundation of Martin County is gearing up to host An Evening of Excellence/Bids for Kids from 6-11 p.m. on March 15.

Mariner Sands Country Club in Stuart will be the venue for this richly elegant event.

During the cocktail hour, guests have the opportunity to participate in the silent auction portion of Bids for Kids, which will feature more than 100 amazing auction items, including golf packages, sports memorabilia, fishing charters, spa treatments, jewelry, artwork and more.

Later, guests will enjoy dining on the gala's signature lobster and filet entree and dancing to party classics by Gregg Jackson and the Mojo Band.

During the Bids for Kids live auction, Elliot Paul of Elliot Paul & Company Auctions will have everyone raising their paddles in a friendly competition to raise the highest bid for a variety of exclusive sporting event packages, golf outings, wine tastings, group dining experiences and a seven-course, in-home culinary extravaganza for up to 12 friends prepared by the Martin County High School Culinary Arts Academy.

Board president Ryan Strom and this year's event committee have amassed a dynamic group of event attendees, must-have auction items and community-minded sponsors.

Lead sponsors include Northern Trust, Wells Fargo, Team Parks, Gehring Group Insurance Brokers and Consultants, Seacoast National Bank, Morganti, Florida Blue, Treasure Coast Urgent & Family Care, Comerica Bank, Southeastern Printing and STS Aviation.

Touted as one of the premier events in Martin County, this annual evening has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to expand educational enrichment opportunities for students and teachers in Martin County's public schools.

These programs include the foundation's S.T.E.A.M. Initiative (promoting student achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics), Robotics, Re-Engineering Algebra, Artist Residencies, Literacy Resources, Professional Development for Teachers, the foundation's Get on the Bus, Martin! Initiative (which promotes the Adopt-a-Classroom, Fund-a-Project and Community Opportunities online modules), Martin County's Teacher of the Year and other programs.
