Eric Brewer Joins SunTrust as Head of Treasury & Payment Solutions

ATLANTA, May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI) announced today that Eric Brewer has joined the Company as Executive Vice President and head of Treasury & Payment Solutions.  Mr. Brewer will be responsible for Treasury Management Sales, Treasury Management Services, Commercial Card Services, Merchant Services, Treasury Product Management, Business Deposit Management, and Global Trade Services.

He will report to Mark Chancy, who recently was named Wholesale Banking Executive, a newly-created post overseeing SunTrust's wholesale banking businesses aligned as one integrated organization.

Prior to joining SunTrust, Mr. Brewer led the Treasury Product business line for Branch Banking & Trust Corporation (BB&T) and served as president of Creative Payment Solutions, a wholly-owned BB&T subsidiary that offers electronic payment products and services to financial institutions for re-sell to their clients.  He previously served as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa Regional Transaction Banking and Cash Flow Advisory Sales for ABN AMRO Corporation.
