Delta Dental Promotes Michael Hankinson to Vice President of Compliance and Regulatory

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Delta Dental of California, Delta Dental of Pennsylvania and their affiliates today announced the promotion of Michael Hankinson to vice president of Compliance and Regulatory.

Hankinson joined Delta Dental in 2010 as director and corporate counsel. Based in the Mechanicsburg, Penn., office, he now oversees the entire enterprise’s compliance and regulatory activities applying to all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

A cum laude graduate of the Pace University School of Law, Hankinson also holds an MBA in finance from Fordham University Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining Delta Dental, he served asgeneral counsel for HealthAxis, a health care technology company; for Imerica Life and Health Insurance Company, an individual major medical carrier; and for Gramercy Insurance Company, a property and casualty insurer.

Delta Dental of California, Delta Dental of Pennsylvania, and several other companies under common management provide dental benefits to 25 million people in 15 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. All are part of the Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA), based in Oak Brook, Ill., which consists of 39 Delta Dental member companies licensed in all 50 states. The association collectively covers nearly 56 million of the 166 million people nationwide with private dental insurance, making it the largest national system of dental plans.
