DALLAS, Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- David Disiere, the long-serving CEO of the Dallas-based Deep South Insurance Group (a managing general agency – MGA), announced plans to step down. Under Disiere's leadership Deep South grew to be one the largest MGA's of its type in the United States.
In 2008, QBE U.S. Agencies, a longtime partner of Deep South and a subsidiary of QBE Insurance Group – one of the 25 largest insurance and reinsurance companies worldwide – purchased Deep South from Disiere for $190 million. Since closing the sale in June 2008, Disiere has continued to serve as the company's CEO to ensure a successful transition.
"It's been a privilege to serve with so many wonderful people. I'm proud of what we've accomplished together over the years, growing Deep South into an industry leader," Disiere said. "But now is the time for me to step aside as CEO and move on to other opportunities."
Disiere took over as CEO in 1987, eventually moving Deep South to its current headquarters in Dallas and growing operations across the country. He charted a course turning Deep South from a small family-owned business into one of the most successful insurance MGA's in the nation. Starting with three employees, Deep South now has over 400 employees today with nine regional offices across the United States.
