Dale Long, Owner of an Encinitas Insurance Agency, Gives Back to Over 26,000 Youth in the Community

PR Web

Encinitas, CA (PRWEB) October 31, 2012

Dale Long is an Outdoor Ethics Advocate and has been a Board Member of the San Diego Imperial Boy Scout Council for over 7 years. For 3 years now, as a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) trained LNT Master Educator he has been training Boy Scout trainers from the San Diego Council, building a team of 70 LNT Trainers thus far for their 26,000 Boy Scouts and 7800 adults. Dale Long is an eagle scout himself, having served for 23 years as an adult volunteer in San Diego.

Long says, “It is important to give back to the community in helping youth develop life skills of leadership, character, citizenship and a land ethic. If we all do a little to give back to the youth in our communities, then everyone benefits.”

As if the volunteering and training were not enough, Long recently returned from the 2012 BSA National Outdoor Ethics Conference in Arkansas last week to continue his education and training. This is a national outdoor ethics conference where over 120 Leave No Trace Master Educators and Outdoor Ethics Advocates from some 280 Boy Scout Councils from across the whole country come together to further their education.

The Boy Scouts of America have taken on educating all of their 4,000,000 scouts in the Principles of Leave No Trace, which is an outdoor ethic focusing on being good stewards of the environment by using the seven principles of Leave No Trace when outdoors in the front country or back country.

When not serving the youth in his community, he has owned and operated a State FarmInsurance Agency in Encinitas for over 30 years, specializing in auto insurance, business insurance, life insurance and homeowners insurance. Long says, “We look at your whole picture and solve problems. It is important to educate clients on the elements of risk management, then guide them to a decision based on quality information that they understand.” Dale Long’s State Farm Agency can be found at 191 N El Camino Real, Suite 207 in Encinitas, CA.

For more information on Dale Long’s agency or to get more information about the Boy Scouts of America in the Encinitas or San Diego area, please visit http://www.dalelong.net, Facebook or call 760-753-1172.
