CosmetAssure Now Available in 48 States

PR Newswire Association LLC

.

MONTGOMERY, Ala., July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- CosmetAssure, an elective cosmetic plastic surgery insurance program, is now available in the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire.

With the addition of these three states to the CosmetAssure roster, this specialized insurance program is now available to plastic surgeons in 48 states and the District of Columbia. CosmetAssure is only available to Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who are members of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) or the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). CosmetAssure is owned by Aesthetic Surgeons' Financial Group (ASFG).

"This is a major step forward for the CosmetAssure program," said Dr. James Grotting, co-owner of ASFG and founder of CosmetAssure. "With the number of board-certified plastic surgeons who perform cosmetic procedures in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire, we will now be able to provide access to insurance protection for a vast number of patients. Although medical complications are rare, they do occur and treatment can be very expensive."

Many patients are unaware that their health insurance policy may not cover complications following an elective cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. CosmetAssure provides insurance protection to patients who may experience complications when undergoing a covered cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. Patients are eligible for benefits if they choose a CosmetAssure participating physician and meet the qualifying conditions as stated in the CosmetAssure policy issued to the physician.  CosmetAssure is endorsed by the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

About CosmetAssure

CosmetAssure is an innovative insurance product that is available through board certified plastic surgeons who are members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and/or members of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). It provides coverage for expenses arising from unexpected medical complications following elective cosmetic plastic surgery. The product was developed because most traditional health plans do not cover such expenses. CosmetAssure is marketed throughout the United States by Palomar Insurance Corporation of Montgomery, Ala.  CosmetAssure currently covers more than 500 board certified plastic surgeons in 48 states and the District of Columbia.  For more information, please visit CosmetAssure's website at www.cosmetassure.com. Access the CosmetAssure media kit at http://www.cosmetassure.com/Shared/PressRoom.

All products are written by insurance company subsidiaries or affiliates of Chartis Inc. Coverage may not be available in all jurisdictions and is subject to actual policy language. Non-insurance products and services may be provided by independent third parties. Certain coverage may be provided by a surplus lines insurer. Surplus lines insurers do not generally participate in state guaranty funds and insureds are therefore not protected by such funds.
