Shawn Svehla of Turner Pest Control was named the 2013 Termite Technician of the Year by PCT Magazine. Svehla was selected from a pool of nominations from pest control companies across the U.S.

Bill Dixon has been promoted to general manager of the three Ashley Furniture HomeStores in Jacksonville. He joined the company in 2011 as South Coastal district manager.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine has made two appointments. Jeanette Ghioto is the new mission advancement director. Nancy Seyler is administrator of Lourdes Hall, the organization's retirement home.

Phenessa Harris has joined The Women's Center of Jacksonville as community education director. She most recently worked with Edison State College as campus director, learning resources.

Scott Williams has joined the Jacksonville office of Holland & Knight. He's the former senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of RailAmerica Inc., and the former general counsel of Florida East Coast Railway.

Charles Gibbs II has been named a partner with Driver, McAfee, Peek & Hawthorne. He joined the law firm in 2009, focusing on retail leasing and commercial real estate transactions.
