Business and community closings: CB&T, Kia, TIC, Blue Cross, Aflac and more

Jan. 30--The layer of ice and snow that moved through the Columbus area Tuesday night has prompted a large number of businesses and community organizations to shut their doors Wednesday or delay openings. Here is a current list of those impacted by the storm:

UPCOMING:

-- The Young Professionals' 2014 kick-off event has been postponed until Feb. 5.

THURSDAY:

-- All Chattahoochee Valley Libraries will also be closed. The branches anticipate resuming normal business hours Friday.

-- Columbus Bank and Trust and CB&T of East Alabama locations open at noon.

-- Promised Land Ministries, an outreach of Midway Baptist Church, Smiths Station, Ala., will be closed.

-- Starbucks: The Veterans Parkway location will open at 7 a.m.The Manchester Expressway and Bradley Park locations will open at 9 a.m.

-- New Horizons Community Service Board Clinics & Pharmacy will reopen at 10 a.m.; staff is expected to report at 10 a.m.

-- Columbus Quarry LLC and Foley Materials will reopen at 10 a.m.

-- The Georgia Department of Labor said all of its offices across the state, including the Columbus Career Center on Veterans Parkway, will be closed for a second day. The department said this follows Gov. Nathan Deal's declaration of a state of emergency for all of Georgia.

-- St. Francis has announced the following closings and delays: St. Francis Center for Surgical Care, St. Francis OB/GYN Physician Partners, St. Francis Center for Breast Health, Trinity Center for Women, St. Francis OB/GYN Associates and St. Francis Wound and Hyperbaric Center will open at 12:30 p.m.; the Columbus Gynecologic Oncology will open at 1 p.m.; the St. Francis Electrophysiology is closed.

-- The annual Financial Forecast breakfast hosted by CSU's D. Abbott Turner College of Business has been canceled.

-- The Armor Gallery Grand Opening ceremony has been postponed.

WEDNESDAY:

-- Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia in West Point, Ga., has canceled second and third shift on Wednesday. First shift of production and admin will be delayed until 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Employees should call 706-902-7777 and select Option 3 for schedule updates.

-- The law offices of Harp, Poydasheff, Post, & Sowers will be closed until noon Thursday.

-- Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church has canceled all Wednesday night activities.

-- St. Francis has announced the following closings: St. Francis Spine Center; St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute; St. Francis Center for Surgical Care; St. Francis OB/GYN Physician Partners; Columbus Gynecologic Oncology; St. Francis Center for Digestive Disorders; St. Francis Center for Breast Health; Trinity Center for Women; St. Francis OB/GYN Associates; St. Francis Wound and Hyperbaric Center; Chattahoochee Valley Cardiology; St. Francis Vascular Surgery; St. Francis Electrophysiology; St. Francis Ear, Nose and Throat; and St. Francis Cardiovascular.

-- Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Columbus Park Crossing has closed for the day.

-- The Phenix-Girard Bank is closed and will reopen at normal business hours Thursday.

-- Both Columbus Diagnostics Centers are closed Wednesday. They plan to reopen Thursday.

-- The following Columbus Regional Health medical facilities and physicians' offices are closed Wednesday: Family Medicine Center; Drs. Kendall Handy, Richard Allen and Jefferson Jones II -- OB/GYN Clinic; Dr. Julie Roberts -- Northside Family Medicine; Drs. Tommy Stewart and Timothy Villegas -- Regional Obstetrics and Gynecology; Drs. David Flowers and April Hartman -- Columbus Regional Pediatrics; Dr. Paul LoDuca -- Pediatric Hematology/Oncology; Drs. Demetrice Hill and Robert Jacobson -- Columbus Regional Maternal/Fetal Medicine; Drs. Paul Cartwright, Jose Espinel and William Streetman -- Minimally Invasive Surgical Institute; Dr. Peter Serafi -- Columbus Regional Thoracic Surgery; Dr. Joseph McCarty -- Pediatric Neurology; Dr. Nojan Valadi -- Neurology; Drs. -- Calvary Free Will Baptist Church has canceled its midweek services.

-- New Horizons Community Service Board Clinics & Pharmacy is closed.

-- Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus has canceled all Wednesday night activities.

-- Morningside Baptist Church has cancelled all Wednesday night activities.

-- Peachtree Mall on Manchester Expressway has closed Wednesday.

-- The Georgia Department of Labor said all of its offices across the state, including the Columbus Career Center on Veterans Parkway, will be closed Wednesday. The department said that follows Gov. Nathan Deal's declaration of a state of emergency for all of Georgia. Meanwhile, unemployment insurance claims may be filed and information about career assistance can be obtained online at www.dol.state.ga.us. The public also can monitor the labor department website and click on the "Severe Weather Schedule" link for office schedule updates.

-- Synovus Financial Corp. said all locations of Columbus Bank and Trust and CB&T of East Alabama will be closed Wednesday. Customers can access their accounts online and through mobile banking, as well as ATMs, the company said.

-- TIC Federal Credit Union branches will be closed Wednesday. TIC plans to open its branches Thursday, pending weather conditions.

-- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia will be closed Wednesday. The insurance company expects to resume normal schedules Thursday.

-- United Cheerleading of Columbus and LaGrange said it will be closed Wednesday.

-- The Pastoral Institute in Columbus will be closed Wednesday and plans to reopen at 10 am on Thursday.

-- CertusBank is closed Wednesday. The bank will make a decision about Thursday openings later in the day.

-- Aflac headquarters has closed its offices Wednesday.

-- Morningside Baptist Church has cancelled all Wednesday night activities.

-- Two Care A Lot Child Development Centers in Smiths Station and Phenix City are closed Wednesday.

-- St. Francis Hospital's Spine Center, Orthopedic Institute, Center for Surgical Care, and the offices of OB/GYN Drs. Catalina Aranas and G. Jeryl Everidge closed at noon Tuesday. The spine center and orthopedic institute are the only two from this list that will be open Wednesday. The spine center will open at 10 a.m. and the orthopedic institute will open at noon.

-- Lane Dermatology closed at noon Tuesday and will be closed all day Wednesday. According to their email, they'll re-evaluate the weather situation and reopen Thursday at 8 a.m.

-- Country's Barbecue closed at 2 p.m. Tuesday. They haven't decided about Wednesday.

-- Columbus Quarry LLC and Foley Materials Company closed at noon Tuesday and will reopen Thursday at 7 a.m.

-- The Chattahoochee Boy Scout Service Center and the Chattahoochee Scout Shop will be closed Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday as well.

-- First Baptist Church of Columbus offices will be closed Wednesday. There will be no Wednesday night activities.

-- The offices at Wynnbrook Baptist Church will be closed Wednesday and all evening services and activities will be canceled due to the weather.

-- The Muscogee County Department of Family & Children Services (DFCS) will have a delayed opening Wednesday at noon.

-- Credit Central closed Tuesday at 2 p.m. They'll announce Wednesday closings later, according to an email.
