Evelyn Bourke, former chief financial officer at Standard Life U.K. Financial Services, has been appointed chief financial officer of U.K.-based life insurer Friends Provident plc.
Friends Provident Chairman Adrian Montague said in a statement that Bourke’s “track record and significant experience in financial services will bring added strength to the board.â€
Bourke, Montague added, will be closely involved in the group’s attempts to “drive down costs, manage the business through the current recession and position Friends Provident for a strong profitable future."
Bourke replaces Charles Bellringer, the interim chief financial officer, who is leaving the group.
