Bourke Named Chief Financial Officer at Friends Provident

Evelyn Bourke, former chief financial officer at Standard Life U.K. Financial Services, has been appointed chief financial officer of U.K.-based life insurer Friends Provident plc.

Friends Provident Chairman Adrian Montague said in a statement that Bourke’s “track record and significant experience in financial services will bring added strength to the board.”

Bourke, Montague added, will be closely involved in the group’s attempts to “drive down costs, manage the business through the current recession and position Friends Provident for a strong profitable future."

Bourke replaces Charles Bellringer, the interim chief financial officer, who is leaving the group.
