BRIEF: Thomasville man leads Davidson County Sheriff’s Office on chase before arrest

Feb. 26--THOMASVILLE -- A Thomasville man was arrested early this morning after he led three law enforcement agencies on a chase through Davidson County, officials said.

Tommie Lee Tucker Jr., 38, of 811 Mendenhall St., is charged with:

-- felony speed to elude arrest,

-- fictitious tag,

-- driving while license is revoked,

-- having no insurance,

-- inspection violation,

-- reckless driving to endanger,

-- seven traffic violations

-- two counts of failure to appear in court in Guilford County, for not having an operator's license and having a fictitious tag.

A Davidson County Sheriff's deputy tried to stop a car early this morning for a traffic violation at N.C. 109 Aztec Drive.

The driver did not stop, the sheriff's office reported, and continued driving through Thomasville and Lexington, avoiding stop sticks that were deployed.

The driver exited I-85 south at N.C. 150 in the Linwood area, according to the sheriff's office.

As he did, he lost control of his vehicle at the top of the ramp and struck a Davidson County car, causing minor damage, the sheriff's office reported.

Tucker was arrested and given a $10,050 bail.
