BRIEF: Man dies in single vehicle crash on Ocean Boulevard

April 01--A man driving a white GMC Yukon died after crashing into a wooded area near the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, said Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes.

The man was driving south on Ocean Boulevard when he crossed a couple lanes of traffic and crashed into a decorative light pole then a wooded area near the south entrance of the Dunes Golf and Beach Club at Jimmy D'Angelo Way, Knipes said.

There was no impact to traffic or power as a result of the crash.

The man who was pronounced dead at the scene has not been identified. A coroner is en route to the scene.

Because of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, also known as HIPAA, authorities said they could not release the man's identity since his death was natural.
