BRIEF: Erie Explosion stay perfect, beat Chicago Blitz

Feb. 24--Quarterback Aaron Smetanka returned and, with first-half assists from his defense and special teams, helped keep the Erie Explosion perfect this season.

Smetanka, who missed last week with a concussion, scored twice on keepers and the Explosion recovered a muffed kickoff return to grab the early momentum in a 44-35 win over the Chicago Blitz on Sunday at Erie Insurance Arena.

The Explosion (3-0) won their 15th straight CIFL game by withstanding a second-half comeback by the Blitz (1-2), who trailed 37-7 at halftime.
