BRIEF: Downtown Music Fest concert rescheduled for Aug. 2

July 25--UNION -- Due to inclement weather last Saturday, the "I Love a Summer Night" Downtown Music Fest was rescheduled.

The Union County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its second "I Love a Summer Night" Downtown Music Fest event this year from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, on Main Street, Union.

The event will feature a performance by The Weatherman Band, featuring WSPA-TV personality and Union native Jack Roper. The band has been together for 10 years and includes other Union natives Andre Kerr, Ronnie Hayes and Pickle Eaves. The band also includes Richard McBrayer of Rutherfordton, N.C.

Audience members will be able to sing and dance the night away as the band plays oldies favorites and beach music hits.

Sponsors for the event include (Band Sponsors) Founders Federal Credit Union, USC Union, Heartland Healthcare of Union, and Barbara Rippy; and (Block Sponsors) Bell Petroleum & Exxon, Quality Inn, Hart Insurance Agency (Allstate), Timken, City Tire and Lube, and WBCU.
