BRIEF: Baldwyn woman to plead guilty in disability fraud case

Dec. 03--CORINTH -- Teresa Wren is set to plead guilty Dec. 16 to wrongly collecting disability benefits while she was employed by Corinth Cardiology PLLC.

The U.S. District Court docket today shows she will change her not-guilty plea at a hearing in Aberdeen before Senior Judge Glen H. Davidson.

Wren, 49, of Baldwyn, was indicted last June on 14 counts that she lied to the Social Security Administration, which paid her disability benefits totaling $13,142 from August 2010 until September 2011.

The government claims she falsely reported to SSA that her Corinth employment ended Dec. 1, 2008.

She faces up to 10 years in prison per count.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Clay Dabbs is prosecutor on the case.
