BB&T Wealth announces opening of first office in Texas

BB&T Wealth, ranked among the nation's top wealth management firms by Barron's magazine, has opened its first office in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. BB&T Wealth delivers a broad spectrum of financial products and services to affluent clients and families including financial planning, asset management, insurance, lending, personal trust and estate services.

The addition of wealth management services continues a major expansion in Texas by BB&T Corp., the nation's ninth largest financial holding company. BB&T has nearly doubled its presence in the state since late 2012 when the bank announced plans to open 30 new financial centers in Texas.

"BB&T is excited about adding wealth management to the services we already offer to our Texas clients," said BB&T Region President Kay St. John. "With the addition of 30 financial centers to our community banking network in the past year and the opening of our North Texas wealth management office, BB&T is positioned to serve the full array of business and personal banking needs for our clients in Texas."

The Preston Center office is led by BB&T Senior Vice President and Wealth Adviser Janelle Walker. The team also includes Ryan Bierds, CFA, senior vice president and regional director of portfolio management; Chad Forsberg, senior vice president and financial planning strategist; and Mary Petry, relationship management associate.

With 60 offices throughout Texas, BB&T was recently named to the Dallas Morning News' "Top 100 Places to Work," and on Nov. 12 the bank inaugurated its new North Texas wealth office with a client reception.
