Alorica Boosts Healthcare Offering with New Care Management Solution

Alorica, a provider of customer management outsourcing solutions, has announced the expansion of services for the healthcare industry with the launch of PREEMPT.

In a release, the Company said that PREEMPT is a proactive, analytics-driven care management solution that enables health insurance companies to evaluate member health, identify future risks and take proactive action to support at-risk members. Alorica said that the release of PREEMPT is timely as insurance companies are under pressure to cut costs and satisfy regulations while providing quality, affordable coverage.

By leveraging predictive analytics to assign members into risk categories, at-risk members may then be supported with timely education and access to support resources to increase wellness and quality of life while avoiding catastrophic events or hospitalization.

"The increasingly competitive and costly healthcare landscape is leading health insurance agencies to look for ways to be proactive in keeping their members healthy," said Art DiBari, chief operating officer of Alorica. "We are pleased to bring an innovative solution that is in great need to the healthcare industry by leveraging our healthcare experience, global footprint of delivery centers, big- data knowledge, predictive analytics and multi-channel communications platform."

In addition to putting preventative care on the radar of health insurance companies, Alorica said that PREEMPT helps identify and eliminate wasteful spending by targeting the behavioral, clinical and operational activities that add no value and are the result of waiting until a member gets sick to take action. A report by PricewaterhouseCoopers estimates these non-value-add activities accounted for more than half of the $2.2 trillion spent on healthcare in the United States in 2010 ("The price of excess: Identifying waste in healthcare spending," by PricewaterhouseCoopers'Health Research Institute, 2010.). As a result of this approach, consumers with health coverage experienced a 7.2 percent increase in their share of healthcare costs between 2011 and 2012.

The launch of PREEMPT solidifies Alorica's commitment to the healthcare industry BPO space. With extensive experience, large global footprint of delivery centers, compliance with HIPAA policies, and rigorous security to protect customer data, Alorica said that it will continue to grow and establish itself as a leader in providing business process outsourcing solutions for managed health care payors, pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical supplement and equipment providers and prescription benefits providers.
