Alison Saifer Joins Fairmont Specialty’s Accident & Health Division As Part Of Executive Management Team

PR Newswire Association LLC

EATONTOWN, N.J., June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Fairmont Specialty is pleased to announce that Alison Saifer, FSA, is joining Fairmont Specialty's Accident & Health division as senior vice president. She will also hold the titles of chief underwriting officer and actuary. Her appointment is effective September 1, 2014.

Alison will be part of the executive management team reporting to Gary McGeddy, executive vice president of Fairmont Specialty's A&H operation, headquartered in Eatontown, New Jersey.

Since 2000, the A&H division has been offering a unique variety of insurance and reinsurance products, dedicated to providing alternative solutions in a quickly evolving accident and health insurance market.

Alison has been an integral part of the A&H team since 2001 as the division's consulting actuary, contributing significantly to its success as it evolved within the Fairfax group of companies from TIG Insurance Company, to Fairmont Specialty Group, and then, in 2006, to Fairmont Specialty, a member of the Crum & Forster Enterprise. In addition to managing all pricing, product development, reserving and supported underwriting, Alison will continue to serve as a key member of the executive team in strategic planning, budgeting, and development.

"We could not be more pleased with the permanent addition of Alison to our executive team, as her broad background and experience, coupled with her intimate knowledge of our organization, are a perfect fit to help propel the A&H operation to new levels of success," said Gary McGeddy.

"She will be invaluable to us at a time when we are entering new lines of business, expanding internationally, and focusing on organic portfolio growth and acquisition."

Alison began her career at CIGNA and held various positions at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, KPMG Peat Marwick and Apex Management Group before starting her own consulting practice, Actuarial Management Strategies, in 1999.

She has been an esteemed speaker for various industry associations, including the Society of Actuaries and SIIA.  She has been retained as an expert witness, been involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions, and has sat on the board of directors of a health insurance company.  Alison is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.  She is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
