Alaska Dems: Where is Dan Sullivan on Contraception Coverage?

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Nov. 26 -- The Alaska Democratic Party issued the following news release:

Today, the Supreme Court announced (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=247287768) it will consider a legal challenge to the Affordable Care Act's requirement that employers cover contraception as part of preventive health coverage. The law already exempts religious organizations, but the court will decide if for-profit companies also can deny preventive health care to their employees. This case only affects contraceptive coverage, not abortion. Mead Treadwell already has said (http://www.catholicanchor.org/wordpress/archives/8939) he supports allowing bosses to take away their employees' contraception coverage.

"Add it to the list--this is just one more example of a high-profile issue on which Dan Sullivan won't take a position," said Mike Wenstrup, Chair of the Alaska Democratic Party. "Will he stand up for Alaska women's rights or join Mead Treadwell in supporting denial of basic health coverage?"
