Accretive Health Taps Patrick Funck as CIO

Accretive Health, Inc. has announced the appointment of Patrick Funck as senior vice president and chief information officer.

In this role, Funck will accelerate the investment that Accretive Health is making in technology solutions that deliver on patient engagement strategies and enable future growth for the organization, the Company noted in a release.

Accretive said that Funck brings 25 years of experience deploying new technology to global insurance carriers and large third party administrators, with accountabilities that have encompassed significant payment and financial processing systems, including large managed care platforms. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and CIO at Sedgwick, a large third party administrator he joined in 2007, where he was responsible for all technology, including North American claims processing and productivity management services.

Prior to Sedgwick, Funck was chief information officer for third party claims administrator Broadspire Services. His career also includes service as vice president, information technology at Zurich Financial Services and vice president, information technology at CNA Financial Corp.

"Patrick is no stranger to the healthcare industry, having implemented large healthcare technology platforms throughout his career, including medical case management, medical bill review, nurse triage, pharmacy programs, and quality of care performance," said Accretive Health president and chief executive officer Steve Schuckenbrock.
