Pull out rain jackets, boots and umbrellas and put them close to the door.
Finally, secure homes and businesses. Bring in or tie down any lawn furniture, signs or decorations. Homes and businesses close to the ocean or bodies of water should stack up sand bags and tape large windows. Prepare a sump pump if the building’s basement tends to flood.
