The National Association of Insurance Commissioners announced Friday that Gary Anderson departed his position as the organization’s chief executive officer to pursue other professional endeavors effective Oct. 29, 2025.
NAIC Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer Jeff Johnston will serve as interim CEO effective immediately. "As the NAIC continues its mission of supporting the U.S. state-based insurance regulatory system, Johnston brings more than 25 years of experience at the NAIC to the interim role," the group said in a news release.
Anderson took over the CEO role in 2024, nearly a year after his predecessor, Michael Consedine, departed the organization for an executive position with Athene.
