The Mayo Clinic Board of Trustees has named Gianrico Farrugia vice president and chief executive officer of the clinic's campus in Jacksonville. He succeeds William Rupp who will retire from Mayo Clinic at the end of 2014.

Farrugia has been with Mayo Clinic for more than 26 years as a physician in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Division of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minn.
