March 16--Why on Mother Earth are Secretary of State John Kerry, Gov. Deval Patrick, and Sens. Edward Markey and Elizabeth Warren making climate change a top priority, when Massachusetts has a Health Connector website that's ranked worst in the country?

If that's not bad enough, the state's Department of Children and Families is in crisis, 250,000 Bay Staters are out of work, Iran's getting nukes, Russia's invaded Ukraine and our nation's power grid has become increasingly vulnerable to terrorists. The list goes on. All while Bay Staters have been struggling through one of the coldest winters in memory.

Do our Democratic politicians notice the Charles River is frozen? Or how about Lake Michigan for that matter? Lake Michigan set a 41-year record this month because 93 percent of it is a frozen sheet of ice.

Perhaps our politicians are too busy jetting around on taxpayer fueled "trade junkets."

Did they bother to read the 2013 U.N. report from the on Climate Change that the Earth hasn't warmed in over 15 years?

Or how about the bombshell admission in February from Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore, who testified before the U.S. Senate environment committee: "There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth's atmosphere over the past 100 years."

Either our elected representatives have blinders on, or they suffer from grossly misplaced priorities. It matters not whether you're an Al Gore groupie, climate skeptic or somewhere in between. What we can all agree on is that our state and country have other pressing emergencies.

As a mother, I'd like to see the DCF overhauled -- immediately -- so the state can prevent more kids from getting abused, lost or murdered.

The governor should be focused on getting the health connector website fixed so people can enroll in health insurance.

With respect to jobs, is it asking too much that some of our elected representatives actually create them?

Another top priority should be repealing the disaster called Obamacare. The reality is any government program that's going to add trillions to our national debt, cancel millions of health care policies Americans liked and kill 2.5 million jobs, shouldn't be considered by any politician. No matter the party.

Bottom line: It's time our elected representatives re-do their "To Do List." Before hell -- I mean Boston -- freezes over.
