Pacific Resources’ Pat Purdy Named One of The Most Influential Women in Benefit Advising by Employee Benefit Adviser
Pat Purdy, Vice President of Global Employer Solutions at Pacific Resources, has been chosen by Employee Benefit Adviser as one of the most influential women in benefit advising.
Pat joins a select group of women who have been recognized for their contributions in the field of benefit advising – leaders in providing strategic consulting to help clients achieve their highest goals, fostering employee benefit innovations, advocating successfully for adviser causes and, in general, elevating the status of all women in the profession.
Pat is Pacific Resources’ practice lead for specialty benefit products including Life, Disability, Dental, Absence and Productivity, Voluntary and Executive Benefits and is a sought-after speaker at industry events. She also heads up Pacific Resources’ voluntary benefits products and services business, manages the company’s audit function, and is leading a new national initiative on the impact of behavioral health in the workplace. In her various roles, Pat develops strategic plans for clients and enhances productivity solutions through the creation of partnerships and programs that meet immediate and emerging client needs.
Over her 25 year career, Pat has focused on training and education, especially in less understood insurance and benefits products including disability, leave management, and behavioral health. She has been on the forefront of helping employers and brokers/advisors understand specialty and underserved products and services (such as disability) and evolutions in the marketplace including FMLA, ADA and the impact of ACA on disability.
Most recently, Pat has broken new ground in another underserved area: behavioral health issues in the workplace. She was instrumental in planning and implementing The Productivity Summit: Improving Behavioral Health and Well-Being in the Workplace with The Carter Center’s Mental Health Program and Sedgwick in May 2015. Her work on this program continues, with the intent of providing a roadmap and practical protocols to help employers understand how they can make a positive difference in the lives of employees and their families as it relates to mental health and also impact workplace productivity.
“We so pleased that Pat has been recognized for her leadership, but what sets her apart is her passion,” said Paul Barden, CEO of Pacific Resources. “Pat has always been a tremendous asset to our clients and our team here at Pacific Resources. Now the entire insurance and benefits industry will see how she’s influenced change through her desire to educate people about topics and products that are not always top of mind but are very important. Pat’s top priority is helping people.”
