"There is no fixing," Loubier said. "We're looking for another space. This is not a safe place to live. The next flood is likely to kill someone."
'It is going to take lives lost'
"The people that live here believe it is going to take lives lost to get action here," he said.
Boulevard Trailers on
The damage included 11 trailer units, which is about a third of what's typically kept at Boulevard Trailers, Zabek said. He said this was the first time any of the units were damaged. Zabek said the flood caused
Zabek paid out-of-pocket for all the repair work needed at the business by selling stock and other financial means. Boulevard Trailers is now back open, though Zabek said there is still some restoration work needed, mostly in the parking lot area.

"We are petrified of another flood," she said.
'It's getting to the point of inhumane'
Laneve said she cannot file an insurance claim following the one she filed following the July flooding. If she were to file a claim, Laneve said her rates would go up 18 percent every year for the next five years.
Her only plan is to fix things as she can and hope there is not another flood anytime soon, she said.
