Before ACA, Smith says, he and Barrow held only major medical insurance for themselves -- nice in an emergency, but no coverage for routine preventive care, and with premiums that rose over 10 years with no corresponding improvement in benefits.
"A lot of things are so much better, like being able to go to a physical without a lot of out-of-pocket," he says.
